Duolingo Brings Its Konbini-Inspired DUOMART to Osaka
The language-learning app is once again bringing its brand to life with a pop-up inspired by Japanese convenience stores.

Duolingo is returning to Japan’s konbini culture for its latest real-world marketing campaign. DUOMART OSAKA, a convenience-store-inspired pop-up, will run from Nov. 7 to Nov. 17, 2026, at LUCUA Osaka.

The concept links Duolingo’s promise of learning anytime and anywhere with one of Japan’s most recognizable cultural institutions: the convenience store, open around the clock and ready whenever people need it.
The first DUOMART opened in Tokyo’s Shibuya district in December 2025, drawing around 10,000 visitors over 13 days. The strong response — including requests to bring the concept beyond Tokyo — led Duolingo to choose Osaka for its second edition.
Like its Tokyo predecessor, DUOMART OSAKA will combine shopping with interactive language-learning experiences. Visitors will be able to meet Duolingo characters Duo and Lily, complete a stamp rally and use words learned in the app during a simulated shopping experience.
The pop-up will also sell new merchandise, including Osaka-exclusive items and products unavailable through Duolingo’s regular official stores. Customers can enter a capsule-toy-style drawing for collectible cards, while users with a Duolingo streak of at least 100 days will receive a special-edition card.
