7-Eleven

7-Eleven arrived in Japan from the United States in 1974, bringing with it the American convenience-store concept. Over the decades, the Japanese operation developed into something distinctly its own and became the country’s largest convenience-store chain. In a remarkable reversal, both the Japanese and U.S. 7-Eleven businesses now sit under the same Tokyo-based parent company, Seven & i Holdings.
